I was out on a dayhike today and I found a Shrade Old Timer lock back knife that had spent some time in the river and washed up on shore. Its still in good shape ,mostly just some surface rust, sand and tarnish. It is one of the newer models with a synthetic handle and I was thinking about using coleman fuel to give it a soak to loosen up the rust. This is ok with some older knives but Im wondering if it might melt the syn handle.Anybody ever tried this?? any opinions?? I hate to see a good knife go to waste!! Maybe rubbing alcohol would be better?? Streamweaver
