Suggestion to keep things smelling fresh and pleasantly "outdoorsy."

In the spirit of re-use, I cut several sprigs from the branches of our Christmas tree before putting it at the curb.

Then I put these fragrant-smelling pieces into old clean socks, and place the socks in my Rubbermaid boxes with my camping gear, clothing, sleeping bags, etc.

My wife pulls off needles and puts them into small pillows. Makes going to bed at night reminiscent of being in a Fraser Fir forest, like in the Smokies.

I don't know - mine stopped being fragrant a week ago, I think (it's very dried out). The fresher it is, probably would work better.
I also like cedar.

My tree is still up and will be until Jan 6. It doesn't have much of a scent anymore. Poor thing, just standing there dying slowly before our eyes. It will be recycled, though. Next year I think we'll switch to a fake. Or, might take hubby's suggestion and just take a photo of this one and tape it to the wall.

It will be recycled? You're going to use it again next year or will somebody else? :)
