Can anyone answer either of these questions?

1. Does anyone know of any good & cheaper trekking poles that are light?

2. Has anyone purchased the Appalachian Pages guide that can quickly review and compare it to the other guides?

My bro in law likes those. He is on his second set. I haven't heard him complain about the weight but then again he is a total fireplug.

I like REI Peak UL non shock absorbing. These a probably out of the "cheap" range tho.
