The one I sent home because it was too heavy.

I found a multi-tool to be over kill in my case. Initially I was carrying a leather man with all the usual bells and whistles. Thinking that having something even when not needed was always better. I quickly realized that if I wanted to have a reasonable shot at making some miles. All superflous weight that may seem negligible at first tends to add up. In the end I found that a good skeleton type folding knife was all I needed. Grant it I was out for the long haul. If weight is not much of a concern - then go for it. Most folks I hiked with carried a small solid folding knife. I did find a pair of folding scissors quite useful until I lost it somewhere in PA. I'm sure more folks would chime in with their reccomendations.

Unless you just gotta have the pliers, a micra will do nicely, and you can trim your nails with it.

I carry this with me all the time, everyday. I has become a part of me. So it goes with me. I cannot live without it. :D

I love the pliers/wirecutters too. Use them often. :)

I don't have a lot of miles with it, but my Coast Micro Fish Tool has been good to me so far. $7 at walmart. I think it's around 2.5 ounces. It's very small, not like a normal sized one. It's smaller than the smallest leatherman. It does have pliers but they're thin. Perfect for grabbing small things, not for turning bolts.

Sturbridge?

Do you work in the "olde village" or whatever it's called? I visited there probably 20 or so years ago. Pretty cool.

I have a Victorinox Swiss Champ Swiss Army Knife. I have had this same knife for going on 20-years. I feel naked without it. I know some of you would say it’s too big, but I find it so useful that I would never go anyplace without it, it’s always in my pocket.

I also have the original Latherman tool that I keep in my pack. But I don’t use it much.
