Wow, all this time I thought the "ignore" feature was available only in paid mode. I was getting so sick of seeing a certain member here do nothing but spend all day taking big steaming dumps all over Whiteblaze. Now...pooof, he's gone. :o) This is awesome. Thanks, WB for offering this feature.

Back when I was a kid, we didn't have computerized ignore buttons. We had to learn to ignore manually -- sometimes with only a stick and a paper bag.

For a good long while - as I was getting reacquainted with this board. There were plenty of days when - I would cringe at peeking at your latest post when I saw your name on each thread. It was a very strange feeling that I had to overcome. Eventually like a infected tooth that I had to suck cold air through ... or a piece of roadkill that I could not look away from ... I started getting anasthesized and even enjoying looking at the roadkill. I'm glad I went through the hardening phase. I am trully jaded.

LORD GOD there are alot of old women on this site. and I don't mean the women who happen to be old.
Yeah, it takes alot to offend you. It takes a cartoon of a naked baby that was picked out of the same pile of avatars that everyone else picked from. If I was "grandfathered" it was unbeknownst to me...I never asked for any special treatment. So God knows let me correct that right damn now.

For the record, you couple of whineasses ain't why I'm dumping the avatar. I only kept it cause it bothered a few of you so much. I'm only dumping it now because of something the whineass "big cranky" said on this thread.

Looking back, I agree with him it wasn't the right thing to have on the thread lamenting that poor dead girl in georgia. And if my little dancing naked baby detracts from real things, horrible, tragic things like that...then i need to get rid of it.

Sly, see if it will just let you start a new name and password. I had the same problem when the site went to the Halloween names. I couldn't remember my password, but it took them a long while to send me a new one, by that time Halloween was over and I found my old password written down in my secret password book.

Actually, flyswatters are for beginners. Just using the Mommy Voice can really get results.

Must be feeling guilty about something.

Thanks! Think I'll pass. I peeked over there just to see what it was and one of the first threads I saw was "we bought a new car (http://www.thebackpacker.com/trailtalk/thread/43764.php)". I was going to read it to see what the hell it had to do with 'Trail Talk', but decided I've killed enough brain cells for the week.

Well, check out the "Thread just for people who have been drinking" and "Atonement".

I forgot my password to TT and don't see a way of retrieving it.

Just create a new account, I'm pretty sure you can use the same email to make multiple accounts. Lots of alter egos, trolls. :D

Which would you rather have: a quick slap on the legs with a flyswatter or an interminable, earnest lecture?

Last weekend when I was in Chapel Hill (college town, a sort of southern Hanover, for those who don't know North Carolina), I saw a dad lecturing and lecturing and lecturing some more at a boy of about 4 who had dropped the orange juice they had just bought at Whole Foods. "How can I ever trust you with orange juice if you're going to treat it like a soccer ball?" A very painful scene.

Sheesh. And some people wonder why their kids never come visit when they grow up.

Some of my favorite TT members are over here anyway - guys like HOI. One I really miss was actually a dog named Sarabell. She was a hoot.

Just make lots of snide, condescending remarks about their spouse, continually, and pretend like its not a big deal because they can't help being what they are, and how if your kid had married someone else how much better their life would be. Trust me, visits will get fewer and fewer......

Do you mean I shouldn't tell my daughter she married a dufus?

But he really is one.

I mean if you don't want them to visit, follow my advice above. Of course, sometimes it can be fun watching them squirm as you slowly needle them and pick away at their insecurities.

SGT Rock
01-09-2008, 20:20
So what you are saying is if I don't want her and the dufus to come around a lot I should tell them how I feel?

Man, this might just work out.

But the wife may get mad cause she likes to see the grand critter.

I haven't done it yet even though I've come really close a few times. Somehow I manage to remember that I can just turn off my computer and forget about them.

Alright rookie listen up. Parents love it when you offer to take the grandkids for a while. Gives 'em time to...well, whatever. You don't even have to see the dufus, just grab the kid and go. Unless they live far away.....like we do. :(

Isn't it past you're bed time. Where are you on the north shore. I used to work in downtown Boston on Kneeland Street and in C-town at the Schraft Center.
