Can anyone give a pros and cons and comparison regarding these two fabrics as would be used for a sleeping bag? Thanks.

There's some info on each at the bottom of this page (http://www.mountainlaureldesigns.com/fabric.php) that you might find helpful.

I'm not sure that I'd select either option unless I was under a tarp and didn't want to carry a bivy bag.

MLD's assertion that insensible perspiration will freeze inside the bag when the outside of the bag is below freezing is a ridiculous assertion, like DUHHH! What the hell else did they think it would do! It really is sorta simple. This is why Will Steeger would never use a down bag on his arctic forays.

Just out of curiosity, what type of bag does WS use in his arctic explorations?

Whoever sponsors him usually, Polarguard was the last I read about. He didn't compress his bags either, they stowed them last stretched out flat under the tarp on the sled. He gave some unbelievable stats on what the bags weighed after weeks of all that sweat freezing inside the bags.
