I'm toying with the idea of getting a mesh or sil nylon pack bag made to attach to my Coleman plastic external frame. Anyone know someone reputable who can do that kind of work? I'm not skilled with that stuff.

Simply not necessary unless you plan to kick it out of an airplane or use it to pack out 100# elk quarters. If you want an affordable, custom pack, try this:

A medium ALICE bag bould be attached to the bottom of that Coleman frame. Carry your sleeping bag at the top of the frame. If you cut the rado pocket out of the ALICE bag and replace the pocket hardware with fastex it won't be too heavy.

yeah, i've got a cut down alice medium to put on the frame for the warmer weather. love it. i'm looking for a pack bag for winter/bulkier items that'll fit on the coleman frame. internal frame packs suck. no frame packs suck. i have had and used both. i only use the internal for off trail stuff.

McHale's are nice packs. $450 and up is more than I wanna drop for a ruck though. All good info, thanks.
