What was done to this woman was a crime, even an atrocity. "Tragedy" sounds too much like an unavoidable accident IMO.

MS, I understand where you are coming from with this, but a 24 yo girl losing her life from whatever cause is indeed a tragedy. The article is about the tragic loss of a member of the hiking community - not about the crime that ended her life. There are other threads to discuss the crime - one in Straight Forward and one in Sensitive Trail topics.
