I use the Camelback mouthpiece ...but a Platypus bladder. Can't stand the Platy mouthpieces (bitevalves)

2 liter camelbak insulated bladder. I just slide it into the side pocket on the outside of my pack and attach the strap to a compression strap and I'm all set to go.

I've got one of the MSR bladders. On my homemade pack i just put a tie-down inside to hold it in place, and a little gap in one seam where I pull the drinking tube through. If your pack doesn't have a bladder pouch then yeah it shouldn't take much work to do something similar to that.

Love them.... now if they could come up with a gauge to let me know before it's empty.

Blow back through it and listen to the bubbling sound. You will soon be able to tell when it is getting low.

This also lets you know whether you are out of water or just have a kinked hose.
Also make sure the lid is on real tight or it will leak out under pressure.

3...2....1....insert your own kinked hose joke here____________:D
