It would be great to see Newman and Redford back together again.
Was it Yoko or Barbara that broke them up. Can't remember. :D

Looks like the title will be: "Walk".

I'm sure the movie will be good, just as the book was. My problem is that there is going to be film crews on the trail, and you know they don't care what kind of impact they leave on the trail.

The article says that the project still needs script approval, and financing, and that Redford is slated to do a film about jackie Robinson as well. My guess is that the trail will be safe for a few more years. These projects take awhile to develop before filming starts. Then some studio has to agree to distribute after the film is in the can.

If Redford and Newman do it I'll throw up. Redford is 73 now. bryson was 48 when he walked the trail. I won't even go into Newman's age.

I think Paul Newman is 82 or something.

Butch and Sundance? 83 and 73 playing Middle aged men? You gotta be kidding.

Are you sure Newman is playing in this movie?
While there was talk of it at one time, this article suggests not:

I think Paul Blue Eyes is in his 80s now, yes?

Newman is out - said he is retired from the movies. Redford was partly motivated to do Walk to have one last buddy movie with Newman. Now that Newman is done, I think the Jackie Robinson movie will prove to be more compelling and will move forward at the expense of Walk.

IF Walk should become a movie with Redford as a star, he will likely choose someone near his age and it will turn into another rendition of Grumpy Old Men rather than Bryson's version...of Grumpy Middle-Aged Men.
