Ahhh... to have $54,000 for membership, a $250,000 sports car, the morality of a land developer and $282,600 for lobbyists (http://www.pasenategop.com/lobbyists/organizationdetail.aspx?org=Alpine+Rose+Resorts%2c +Inc.).

Looks like other land in that area along the trail has also been developed. This ski resort (http://users.zoominternet.net/~btutor/CarTrack2.jpg) is just down the ridgeline from the proposed car track. The red line along the bottom of the picture is the AT.

Looking at the design maps of the car track it appears it will butting up against the trail much like this. Should make for a nice peaceful walk through nature smelling car fumes and hearing german engines whining up and down the mountain.

This is between Leroy A. Smith shelter and George W. Outerbridge shelter.
