I punched a hole in my coleman crawdad (small boat) on the James River and patched it up with Duck Tape. Don't leave home without it.

I have used the metal duct tape for ducts in homes, does that count.

It's currently holding together a small section of the front end of my car; after my son accidentally drove it into the ditch in our yard Saturday night. In our house duct tape is the fifth element.

Actually we use Gorilla tape - - caught my jacket zipper in my sleeping bag and tore a hole in the bag trying to get it loose. (REI Sub Kilo down bag). Slapped a piece of Gorilla tape on it and voila! It has never tried to peel off and since the tape is pretty much the same color as the inside of my bag I can't even find the repair spot most of the time. :D

i've seen it used to replace an entire car rear window.

i've used it over a piece of tissue for a band-aid, as a notebook/binder hinge, to fix a hold in a screen, to make a pot cozy, wrapped it around a zip lock bag to make a wallet, and to mark a duffle bag with a big "X". oh. and i made a lot of other "Xs" on all my windows before Hurricane Rita hit a couple years back.

We used it to cover the window on the vestibule of our REI half dome. We ended up covering the whole window with it--it worked!

I used to work at a Restaurant that I swear if it weren't for duct tape they couldn't run the place.:D

It's holding the hood onto my old raincoat - totally waterproof!

My husband tells of using it to hold helicopters together.

OH YEAH, I FORGOT....I use it in my first aid kit with tp for bandages and took a small folgers coffee canister(plastic with lid), wrapped it in a cheap car sun shield (the reflective kind) and then duct taped all around it. Makes great cozy for freezer bag cooking. All my kitchen stuff fits in it for storage.

I had went sky diving a few years back, and the small plane that we flew up in had duct tape holding most of the inside together. Boy, was I glad to jump out of that plane!

Works great on snoring sheltermates.

There would be no rock n roll shows without it.

I use it for 1st aid, repair everything, blister prevention, there appears to be no limit to the number of uses.

I use duct tape for my blisters, it works well! As someone else wrote, never leave home without it, keep a roll in your car and house.

Don't forget the duct tape to protect your home during biological warfare. :p

How? Put it on some of us when we act up and rip it off taking huge amounts of hair with it?

I keep hearing about this stuff, how does it compare with duct tape?

I have a role of Gorilla tape and would say it's stronger and stickier than 3M brand duct tape.

Of course, it doesn't come in all those lovely colors! (yet?)

3M now makes band aids out of duct tape, sold under the 3M "Nexcare" brand bandages.
3M duct tape bandages (http://www.3mestore.com/70071352523.html)

I bought TWO boxes as soon as I saw them. :)

I have heard that you can use duct tape and a swiss army knife to cure warts...

A teacher I once worked with duct taped a student to his chair cause he wouldn't stay seated. A tad extreme....

When I did the PCT, my Baja Ventilators decided to crap out in Stehekin, WA.

Now, I bought them them in Ashland, OR so I knew I was pushing it.

Well, Stehekin is in the middle of nowwhere. The only store is mainly snacks and a few car camping type items. They do have a killer bakery (http://www.stehekinvalley.com/pastryco.htm) though!

Alas, mosquito coils and awesome cinnamon buns could not be hiked on.

What could I do to hike the last 90 miles to the border?

Why DUCT TAPE of course!

My buddy Tim was a medic (and later a nurse) in the Army. He joined me for the last week of the PCT..and also constructed a figure 8 bandage out of duct tape for my shoe:

I made it to the Canada border with the help of copious amounts of duct tape!

I sent the photo to Merrel. For some reason they never wrote back. :o

If you're from the South, and you don't have a roll of duct tape in your vehicle upon inspection, you will be cited. Some around here call it "duck" tape. And yes, it will cure warts.:)

I've heard it'll cure cancer - if you can get it to stick...

My daughter had a grey/blue Saturn SL that had the plastic body panels. She hit something (about the 4th-5th time she had wrecked the car) and cracked the front fender panel.

Considered taking the fender panel off but instead patched it up with duct tape until we could save up enough to buy a new panel. The grey color duct tape came real close to matching the car color.

It held the panel together perfectly for several months...

No, no lovely colors...yet....but it does come with THE most foul odor of all time! Makes it very easy to find the roll when you need it but it will, as my dad would say, "gag a maggot off a gut wagon." Yeah, that bad. :p

I have used red duct tape to mark my duffle bags for many deployments over the years. Makes them alot easier to pick out which ones are mine among the sea of green that comes off the plane.
I used strips of duct tape (or as we call it in the army "100 mile an hour tape") to write radio freqs. and call signs on while in the field.
During a boy scout Jamboree I used it to repair a 2 foot long gash in a couple of scouts dome tent, it held up great during some pretty nasty wind and rain storms.
And of course on blisters and or hot spots.
