I'm just trying to plan some things out, and i'm going to have to get off of the trail for about 2 days in june..

Im starting March 19th, WHEN do you think i'll be hitting CT at an average speed?

*keep in mind this is just an estimate for planning purposes

Probably about 3.5 months as its 1450ish miles, on the average. I did it in 3 though I'm sure the average is closer to 4 months, so added to March 19th, you'd be hitting CT sometime around July 4th.

This should answer your question, average based on a good sampling of hikers by mapman

Well, if you're a REALLY REALLY average completing NOBO thru-hiker you will get to CT on July 8:D according to the article John just mentioned (112 days after you start). And you would be hiking from Front Royal VA to Vernon NJ in June. Of course, virtually no one is exactly "average."

No idea. Just be prepared for some planes, trains, and automobiles type action.

The odds actually are that you will be back at home.

Perhaps you see why this doesn't work? Tater's and LW's comments are very important to that understanding.

As rude as it may sound, it is the truth. Hope your not average, hang in there.

Don't listen to those cocksmokes. You'll be on the trail if you want to.

Oh, you're from Connecticut? Forget it. You'll be home.

My guess is 12-19 July.
