Cooking in a K mart Grease Pot

Anyone have qualms about cooking (not just boiling water) in a K Mart grease pot? I read here somewhere about a connection between untreated aluminum and Alzheimer's.

Scientists have been trying for decades to prove a link between Alzheimer's and aluminum and have been unable to do so. If aluminum plays a role, it is not the major factor. It is doubtful using an aluminum pot while hiking would cause Alzheimer's. You already have a good deal of exposure to aluminum through things like tap water and antiperspirant. Go for it.

Bought a k-mart grease pot, used it a couple times, left some water in it and when in evaporated it left a small hole in the pot. Pot is too thin for me.
