Camping area between Hightower Gap and Cooper Gap?

Does anyone know if there is a semi-flat area to camp between Hightower Gap (mile 8.1, USFS 42/69) and Cooper Gap (mile 11.6, USFS 42/80)? We will be starting at Three Forks and want to end up at Gooch Gap. I can't tell from my map if there are any camping areas, other than the two shelters (Hawk Mtn. and Gooch Mtn.). The two shelters are too close to the beginning and ending of our proposed route. If anyone could let me know, I'd really appreciate it. GPS coords would be great! ;)

yup. i remember a few places to camp in there. no water of course

There is a nice tent site atop Sassafras. You will need to carry water. There is no water from Hightower Gap to Cooper Gap.

Thank you SO much! That's exactly what I needed to know! I thought Sassafras was a possibility, but it's hard to tell from the map. Good info about the water, too! Thanks!
