Has there ever been a second generation thru hiker?

Thread bump. Surely some thru's son or daughter has been inspired by mom/dad's hike?

Huff and Puff did it together. I think it was '93. Met lots of father/son partners already. Why not?
It's one of my goals when my son is old enough. (hopefully it'll be his too)
I'll let him make all the decisions. (well i'll try)

There have been many, many parent/child thru-hikes. I remember at least one such pair from 1990. Of course, Blissful and Paul Bunyan in '07. I tried to convince my nephew to give it a go, but he's not buying.

I know of one-sort of. In 2003, Tucker, a 20-something year-old college student, completed his thru. In 2007, his mom Catchup finished hers. Check out Catchup's trail journal. She struck the same pose as her son on top of the sign. Very inspirational. So I guess you could call that an inverse second generation thru?

Don't forget Troll, Anchor and Oblivious '05. The family that thru-hikes together stays together.:D

I seem to remember a mention of Warren Doyle's son, Forest, thru-hiking.

In '06 there was a father and his teenaged daughter and son thru-hiking. I don't know if they finished.

There are several in my little town (nowhere near the trail). Even a few where the second generation thru-hiked before the first generation. Not unique at all.

I hiked with Fire (ME) in 2006 who was inspired by her dad's thru hike in 1974. Started in Feb and finished in May as he had a job beginning in June. That had to be a cold, wet hike carrying cans of food.

He is a great guy. We hiked some in NJ in 2006 with him.

Did Robinson's dad go the AT or was it just the PCT?
