Blister prevention. I have an area on the back of my heel that seems to blister easily. So I just tape it before the hike, why wait for the blister?

Wonder's list #6! My son made a really nifty wallet out of duct tape. Used it for 3 years. It's nice because no one suspects it's a wallet, so little chance for money/cards to get stolen. I'll try and dig up a pic of it. :)

Hikers that talk too much!!!

Just kidding.....

Works great on hiking boots. My son had a blow out last year and had to do the last 30 miles with duct taped boots. Worked like a charm.....plus it made for great pictures.

That's easy. It's no good for taping ducts.

taped my foot to my chaco(or taped my chaco to my foot)the main strap broke on my chaco.(2003 thruhike)around n.h. and maine state line. i bought a big roll of duct tape, in stratton.i would wrap the tape over my foot and all the way around the chaco on the sole. i would have to retape a couple times a day where the tape was cutting on rocks, and such. and always rewrapping every morning, all the way to big k. i'm always broke at the end of hikes(either doing something very wrong or very rite)so new shoes were out of the question.

Back in the Apollo Space progam, one of the test questions for people wanting to be astronots was "name 100 uses for duct tape" It was to see if you could think outside of the box.
