I always brought badels when I went into a town to resupply. Never thought of putting something into the hole. I ate them for lunch with peanut butter or cheese. I would also eat them with my Lipton dinners.:)

Any kind of cheese on the bagel. They wouldn't be around long enugh to be very useful.

But ditto on nutella. I discovered that yummy concoction late in our hike.

Bagels, english muffins, pitas - these are my staples. Just depends upon what I feel like when I hit the grocery store, or what they happen to have... Cheese, peanut butter, hummus - that's what I put on 'em...

I squash my bagels (usually raisin) after slicing them, then peel them apart and put peanut butter on them. There isn't much of a hole left once they're squashed.

Extra Crunchy Peanut Butter and Honey................lasts for days without refrigeration. Does seem to attract bees and wasps in a hurry though. Extra protein. Yummmy
