Transportation information needed

This is Bad Rock. My son intends to meet me at Fontana Dam on March 11, 2008 and needs information on what type of transportation is available from Knoxville, TN airport to Fontana. Also, is Knoxville the closest airport to Fonanta? Thanks for any help you can provide.:sun

As far as I know, Knoxvile is indeed the closest real airport.

For more info, you might want to call Jeff or Nancy Hoch at the Hike Inn in Fontana Dam at 828-479-3677. They've been helping hikers for years and could probably answer your questions off the top of their heads, including suggesting a reliable shuttler in the Knoxville area.

Thanks so much for your input. I called the Hiker Inn and have been able to make arrangements for a shuttle service.
