Roughly how much cooking can you do with one canister on your jetboil. The website states 12 liters with one can. Just checking with the actual users. I have made 4 cups of coffee, a few pancakes, couple skillets of eggs, heated one can of chicken for tortillas, one packet of beans and rice, and boiled a couple of cups of water just to show off and still have gas remaining.

What have ya'll found?

I got about 14 days out of the small canisters heating water 2-3 times a day. I got around a month of that use out of the large ones. I usually don't cook food, I just heat the water to a boil then add the food.

I get about 1/2 that, but I do a lot of cooking and coffee making, about the only quick meal I make is oatmeal, my dinners take about 20-30 minutes - because of what I cook (other than boiling the water the 20-30 mins is simmering).

Do you actually cook or just boil? Are you at 1500 feet or or 4500 feet? What size canister? Is it 90 and still or 12 and windy as hell? Spend a few bucks, buy a canister and experiment with different variables.

As I said above, yes, but there is a small different in the sizes, though, I cannot remember the difference.

You should be able to boil about 40 cups of water from one of the small canisters. I figure about 0.1 oz of fuel consumed for each cup of water boiled. In practice, I went at least 3 weeks per large canister, cooking one meal per day (including 2 cups of tea with each meal.)

What I posted was about average for my southbound hike. I put a bail on my pot and now cook over a fire using my jetboil as much as I can to save fuel.

When it's cold, just warm the canister first. Other than that, just go for it. When it gets low, get another canister.

I average 27-30 boils per snopeak can. When I kept track of it, it was mostly in cold weather (e.g. cooking breakfast was below freezing). I freezer bag cooked, soil I boiled like 1 1/4 cup per boil
