Just wondering who are some the celebs along the trail.
Around Tenn, we have the Peoples and Miss Janet for hostel celebs. Then there is Johnny Molloy an author celeb.
Any modern world celebs that also make an appearance on trail?
Someone spotted Andie McDowell on the trail near Hot Springs. (She has a house in Asheville)

I believe I read a Trailjournals entry that said they got a shuttle from Tom Burleson, who played on the 74 NC State National Champions with David Thompson. He lives in Newland, near Elk Park. (they didn't know who he was but I guessed from their description.)

I saw a guy that looked like Tom Cruise back in June 2005 at the Ensign Cowall shelter. I forget his trail name. He had a pretty young wife too. They looked like they could be celebrities even after hiking from Georgia.

I saw Lance Armstrong 3 times on the AT. Twice at Woody Gap and once at Hogpen Gap. He was riding a bike and was wearing funny looking clothes. In 2004, at Hogpen Gap he had a yellow shirt on. <grins>
I also saw him on top of Brasstown Bald, but that's not on the AT.
