Here's a link to the Smokies weather. Looks like LeConte has 17 inches; Sugarlands Visitor Center has 5 inches!

Wow, that's a good dousing. Good for the water table though, and the springs.

It's still winter out there.

Bummer for me though.... I was supposed to park at Fontana Dam tomorrow and get shuttled to Davenport Gap on Friday. Looks like a no go as of now. I'm hoping to get on the trail Sunday.

As of today most of the park roads are open. On April first the road to Clingmans Dome is set to open

I just got back from the park. Some pretty serious weather over the past week and they're getting more today. Mostly rain and sleet though. Expect everything to be frozen in the mornings. Especially the Trail! The hike down from Clingman's was unlike anything I've ever seen. It was a river of slush and water over icy rocks. Not the best conditions, but sure was fun to negotiate!
