My girlfriend and I are planning a 7day trip starting at Amcolola including the approach trail. We are both beginers but we have been on small trips in the smokys a few times. How far do you think we will get and at what point should we plan for a shuttle to bring us back to our car at the park at the approach trail? I was thinking we could get off the trail at Unicoi Gap and hitch a ride from there. Please any advise would be helpful.
