SoG, it seems to me sometimes that there's a disconnect between these large-scale landscape conservation effort folks and the local trail clubs. Seems to me both the land trusters and the trail volunteers have a lot to offer each other. I have specific examples but don't want to air them here. If there is a disconnect, how can this be bridged?
I'm glad to see the Pottsville newspaper picked up the ball and advanced it some. I guess The Reading Eagle hasn't yet received its invitation.:rolleyes:
I have observed as long as I can remember a disconnect between some hikers and trail maintainers. I'm hopeful WhiteBlaze can help to bridge the gap or at least blaze a trail across it.
Hikers need to realize they too must pay. If not user fees, then what they benefit from must be reimbursed in sweat or dollars to maintaining organizations or land trusts. Something for nothing doesn't happen in the real world forever.

I agree and respect and appreciate your desire to express your ideas where they are more apt to be helpful. Without a doubt, there are many natural allies that are not aiding one another's efforts as well as they might. This is undoubtedly something which must be addressed.
I have many ideas I believe should be heard that are better expressed elsewhere. You are on my buddy list as you know.
