That one spring there just gushes. A great campsite too.

What is the water availability up on top of Whitetop. I will be going up there in a few days, and hope to camp up there. Is there water on top?
thanks

Heading south from Elk Garden to the top of Whitetop, there is a spring on the trail when you cross the road the the top. It's well marked, and you can usually hear it.
There is water at the East side of the mountain and also at the shelter ~1 mi North of the summit.

That piped spring up on Whitetop is one of my favorites on the trail. I brought home 5 gallons of that tasty water the other weekend.
