Is there a list somehwere that summarizes all of the permits needed for the trail and how much each is?

You have to have a permit to hike through the Smokies and Shenandoah. You also have to register to enter Baxter State Park. No permits are needed for the rest of the trail. The permits are free, and you can pick them up at Fontana Dam or Hot Springs for the Smokies and registration centers on the south and north end of Shenandoah NP. Enjoy your hike.
