What is the best 50 to 60 mile section of the trail to hike in mid-April? Any feedback would be appreciated.
One good answer might be the section nearest your home. Checked out the price of automotive fuel lately? Hikes that begin at my front door appeal to me more all the time.
Consider hiking on trails other than the AT especially in your own community. I expect you'll get many other answers including those that don't include any economic or environmental considerations, but, of course the decision will be yours.
As AT hikers like to say, Hike Your Own Hike (HYOH). After all, it's you who must pay for it!
