Does anyone where I can buy a small (about 3" X 3") nylon or silnylon stuff sack?

That's pretty small, you'd probably have to make one yourself.

For that size, what advantage do you see of a silnylon over a ziploc bag?

I wanted to use in for tossing a bear bag rope. I had a bag this size that a head net came in but it's MIA.

somebody on here suggested using the pocket off a pair of old blue-jeans.

That was me. I've used that for several years. I know it's cotton but even wet it still only weighs an ounce.

Check out the Gregory pack cover stuff sacks. They're tiny and just about perfect(but ya gotta get the pack cover). I use one to keep my digital camera in when I'm walking.

I bought a set of 3 stuff sacks from Walmart several years ago and one of them was very small, just right for a rock.

What about using a plain old sock?? Put a rock in it, tie a knot, attach the rope and give it a throw....

an old vacuum bag cut down a bit and a thingy attached (circular ring - brain fried just took an exam 2 hours ago) to tie a rope to
