I just wanted to thank everyone for the great advice over the past few months. I have a lot of hikes under my belt but am a newbie, somewhat, to the AT. I am also new to the "light" hiking idea due to back issues. I now feel much more comfortable about hiking the trail and also learned how to dodge hillbillies.;) I just thought that I owed all of the people who have posted and answered my questions a thanks. Happy hiking..... 3 days and counting........ see ya out there!:banana

Keep it real Jason.
However it goes, never be afraid to make the most of the remains of the day.

Here is a photo expose of Margaret and I a day and a half late for an Easter Egg Hunt. :D

You too Sir! We posted some great debates.:) The pics are great. I've got a five year old daughter. She's quite the little hiker too so I know how awesome that is! I'll see you on the trail some day.
Keep it real Jason.

I'm always looking for new hiking buddies. Anytime. I think that if my crippled ass is able to move when we get back that we should work on that KY group thing anyhow.

Nah, people call me sir and I'm just another punk kid that can't grow up! I just try to show a bit of respect for people who I think could outwit me.

You're a fellow Kentuckian? Best of luck to you, and when you get back, let's get all the KY hikers together.

You don't have to be older than me to call me sir.
To claim to have sired me however, you would have to be at least 10 years older. :D

Yep, sounds good. I'm in the big KY. We can share crazy hiker stories and stuff.;)

Ouch! I used to have stereotypes of southerners too until I was lucky enough to experience the hospitality of actually being one. Unless you mean the "big" group thing. I'm not really for that either. I like my solitude.

I learned how to dodge hillbillies.;) !

Dont dodge them, embrace them.

My first AT hike taught me to love Moonshine, Bluegrass and good porchin' with old school people who could play the hell out of Banjos/Mandolins and fiddles.

oh yeah, and enjoy the bugs.:D

Yeah, I saw that, but I figured it would be more sporting to let someone else pounce on it! We've seen JAK's siring, and she is much cuter, I bet. His daughter, I mean. :sun

Thank you for allowing me to be the spelling nazi, although I can't get the spellcheck to work and I can't find my dikshunary. Where's Matthewski when you need him?

Go Jason!!!! (Gray Blazer does not want to cause thread drift and why am I talking like this?)
