I just wanted to thank everyone for the great advice over the past few months. I have a lot of hikes under my belt but am a newbie, somewhat, to the AT. I am also new to the "light" hiking idea due to back issues. I now feel much more comfortable about hiking the trail and also learned how to dodge hillbillies.;) I just thought that I owed all of the people who have posted and answered my questions a thanks.
