View Full Version : Best place to buy silicon seam sealer?

Just got my tent (contrail, thanks Henry for the quick delivery) and much to my dismay the Wal-Mart seam sealer is beading up. I don't want to order online, so where can I pick this stuff up? Home Depot? I thought I saw something about and auto parts store, which department? I suppose Home Depot would be most convenient cuz I could pick up the mineral spirits too.

Just get a tube at Home Depot or a hardware store. It has to be pure, silicone caulk.
Look for the small squeeze tube as opposed to the caulking gun tube. Look for the odor free mineral spirits.
Home Depot tiny disposable paint brushes are not as good as the "100 natural bristle Made in Indonesia" brushes found in smaller hardware stores.
Mix small batches.
