Are the Pisgah public forest roads open yet, or is it still April 1st or 1st full week of April?

I believe most are open. Did you have a particular one in mind? You might also check the NC National Forest website:www.cs.unca.edu/nfsnc/

All service roads should be open. We have not had any foul weather in quite a while so there shouldn't be any icing or snow. :)

most roads stay open year-round barring temporary closings for bad weather, but even so these closings are short and rare. this of course excludes the parkway.
Last time I checked the road to Deep Gap was closed due to controlled burns, and FS 140 had a bit of washout on the bridge but it was still open and we drove it in a Chevy Metro.
