How much of the PCT are dogs allowed to hike on? I'm not interested in the southern desert section at all, but anything north of the desert.

Thanks

dogs are permitted in all areas except those considered 'national parks', and the five california state parks. National forests allow dogs.

Word. Probably the best place would be up north in WA and OR, where it is a bit cooler in the summer.

You and your dog could travel without regulatory problems from the PCT crossing of Hwy 138 near Diamond Lake - at the start of section D just north of Crater Lake National Park - all the way to Stehekin, just south of North Cascades National Park and almost to the end of section K.

At Stekein, take the Lady of the Lake boat down to Chelan, and take a local bus to Wenatchee. From there, you can get a bus to Seattle.

Can you put a dog on the bus?

Dog on the bus? Probably, but it may have to be in a carrier under the bus. Check with Trailways. There is also an airport in Wenatchee. As I recall, United flies daily from there to Seattle. Same restrictions probably.

Alternatively, have someone drive over from Seattle and meet you at either Chelan or Wenatchee.
