Well, I'm all packed & ready to go.
I got my pack wt with 5 days food down to 27 Lbs (17.5 wo food). & considering that my first trip in 89 the pack weighed at least 65 Lbs, I am real happy with this weight.
Would leave now, but wife has other plans for me till I leave on 4/17.
The plan is for the wife to drive me to trailhead, then head on to visit her BFF in SC. Stay for 3 weeks, then come fetch me where ever I end up. I'm hoping for over 200 miles, but I'm not going to work real hard to get to that.
I'm off work 26 days, so actually could hike for 24, but wife needs to be at work AM day 25, so we will try to be heading home early so she can get a day or 2 of rest. Fortunatly her job is flexable, so we can linger if need be.

I am so excited!! :D:p:banana

Sounds like a win/win situation for both of you.

Hope you each have your favorite sort of fun.

I've done similar things with my wife. Nice. :)

The plan is for the wife to drive me to trailhead, then head on to visit her BFF in SC. Okay, I know SC is South Carolina, but what is her BFF? I assume the BF part doesn't stand for boy friend?

Leave home Thursday AM, hit the trail as early as I can Friday, Don't need to be back for over 22 days.

My FSO, with food & water is 29.5 Lbs. Which is much better than my 98 hike with a 68+ Lb pack. That was pack weight only, clothing & hiking stick likely added another 8 - 10 Lbs,,, or more (boots weighed 4 Lbs, hiking stick 3+).
