My big guy (260lbs plus) needs a new sleeping bag that will fit him so he can get the mummy hood around his head. He's 5ft 10. Preferably around 20 degrees. Any suggestions? I did a search here but didn't come up with anything specific, and maybe there is something new out there. Thanks!

I like the Marmot Sawtooth +15 degree extra wide.

It hold my 6'-03" 280lbs with room enough to scratch.

Some of the bags from Western Mountaineering (http://www.westernmountaineering.com/index.cfm) and Big Anges (http://www.bigagnes.com/index.php) are built with more shoulder/chest/waist room.

The best bags for big guys is the Montbell UL super stretch series. Here's a 25* (ratings are conservative!) 5'10" with 650 down.

You may be able to find it on sale using Google products (Froogle). 800 is more money.

I agree with TLBJ6142. If you have a few extra dollars go with WM if not look at Bid Ag. I have broad shoulders and use Big Agnes bags. They seem to dry faster if they do get wet plus you can vary your pad system to match your expected temperature and thus save weight. I'm a side sleeper and have no problems with the BAs but I've read of people who have. I wear a watch cap at night so I don't cinch the hood down as much as most. I had a zipper problem on my second Big Ag and the company replaced it for free even though I bought the bag used.

I'd suggest you buy a double bag and go with him. Allot more fun than CSI.

Savor Happy!
