I was thinking about section hiking gerogia going north in April. Are the bugs bad enough to justify a head net?

I was on Rabun Bald yesterday, on the trail that summits from the north the small black flies were HORRIBLE. I made a short movie from the fire tower and you can see them swarming in the movie. So long as I was moving, it was not bad, but they forced you to keep moving because when I stopped, they covered me up. Granted yesterday was the first full sunny day in almost a week. Maybe the dampness had a little to do with it. I've never had bug problems like that in April.

I can put up with hot weather, cold weather, smelling, and anything else in the entire world excpet for bugs flying by my ears and face. I would have to bring a net for that.
So bring a net, not that heavy or expensive.
Really, what's the problem. a headnet weighs what, a couple of ounces??
