I attempted a SOBO a few summers back (key word being "attempted") and haven't been back on the Trail since (I live in Florida). Me and few of my friends (some of whom are experienced hikers, some not) were wanting to hike some this summer, but we're undecided as to where. I'm leaning towards somewhere in Virginia, as I haven't done much there, but I'm open to whatever. I've done most of the southern portion and most of the northern portion, so I'm really looking for something in the middle. I'm out of touch with Trail stuff, so I'm not sure if there's any water concerns I need to be aware of or anything like that. Any suggestions of favorite places to hike in the mid-section would be appreciated. I'm open to different lengths, though I was thinking 1-2 weeks. Thanks.
