I am heading out with a few hiking buddies tomorrow to do about a 50 mile section between Harvey'Knob Overlook on the BRP to Punchbowl Mountain Crossing (a bit north of the James River). Anyone have any recent insight on water conditions in this area? When I did the section just south of here last October nearly everything was dry, and we had one 18 mile stretch with no water source at all. What can we expect this time? Have water conditions improved any?

I was out in the area a couple of weeks ago and had plenty of water. We have had a fair amount of rain fall, so you shouldn't have any problems.

I was up there this weekend. There is lots of water. The ground is drying out (foiling morel hunting) but the creeks are up.

Sure the water is good up there, but right now our water main broke in our subdivision so we are out! ugh :)

Thanks all! I feel pretty comfortable now about water conditions.

Can't wait to start hiking! :banana
