View Full Version : sleeping bag/ dry sack

i have the marmot tresels 30 degree synthetic fill sleeping bag and i was wandering if i should get a dry sack for it and if so what size dry sack. if not do you think it would be alright in the factory compression sack. any info would be greatly appreciated

Since it's synthetic, you don't have to worry as much as a person with a down bag. BUT, if you are concerned about it getting wet you could put it in a garbage bag...that will work fine.

A dry sack or type of waterproof sack is nice to have though....In terms of size, I'd suggest putting the sleeping bag in it's original stuff sack and then finding a dry bag that it will fit in. You could also get a compression sack if you want. You don't have to worry about hurting the bag since it's synthetic, with down, you really don't want to compress it anymore than the factory stuff sack.
