Tyvek Questions!!!!!!

First off, does anyone have any for sale? I need about 5'X20' for what i'm gonna try to make.

Second, What is the best way attach tyvek to itself? Can it be sowed, glued, taped? If you can sow it, how is it done?

I think i'm going to try to make a full tyvek sleeping system/Rain gear.

I noticed that the maker of White Box stoves is selling it by the foot on Ebay. I was thinking about getting some too, for groundcloth at least. (link here) (http://stores.ebay.com/WHITE-BOX-STOVES)

4 square ft weights about an ounce or less. (i weighted 9'-14' and that was 2 lb.)

if yous are going to trail days. tyvek is $110 for 900 sq ft (9'-100') at home depot. 4 or 5 of you get together and split up a roll.:-?

My groundcloth is 7 x 4 ft and it weighs in at 5 oz.

tyvek makes a tape to seam seal joints-

Hit up the people you know in the construction trades- you can probably get what you need for free

Or go to a construction site - they are always throwing sheets of it away and ask if you can have it.

Or ask barefoot hiker "Tyvek" for some good advice :) ALL of his gear was made out of Tyvek... I thought he was crazy when I came across him in the Smokies.

There is original tyvek and now I have seen some foam back tyvek that is softer and does not make so much awful nosie as the original. It is almost like a soft canvas but light still like the original tyvek. I have always gotten whatever I needed free at construction sites but please ask first even if it is already in the dumpster.
