Looking for a small 2-person tent, and I came across this tent and was wondering if anyone was familiar with it? One of the reviews stated that it made a good backpacking tent.

Never seen or heard of the company before. But here is what I found with Google:

At 7.5 lbs for a two person tent, I think I would keep looking...

Did you see this one on cheaper than dirt: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/TENT8102-63888-593.html

I've heard from some that like Eureka tents.

Big savings, but not that cheap. You can get much cheaper tents from kelty. www.kelty.com (http://www.kelty.com)

I got a 2-man (4.5 lb) teton 2 for $100 over 2 years ago and still using it.

One of the best deals I ever got on a tent was an old Coleman Peak1 Aries (when Peak1 was the Coleman backpacking label). 2 man tent weighing about 5lb 3oz that I got for a steal. Seam sealed it up real good and used it exclusively until I went to hammocks. Always strong and always dry.

Thanks guys, I googled it yesterday but the catoma site wouldn't load up for me, though it appears to be working now.

I agree 7.5lbs is a bit much.

I have a couple of the BedNet's by Catoma. They are well made and work great for use in a shelter or under a tarp. Not much room inside for anything besides sleeping, but that is the purpose. They are a small company, when I called with a question they transferred me to someone who could answer and it was the VP of production. I am not familiar with their non-technical (consumer) gear.

I have one of the ones made by Eureka, for the Marine Corp., and its bomb proof. No light can escape the fly,two doors, weighs 11+ pounds. Not ultra light. Not actually "bomb" proof, but you get the point. I did carry it on a section hike of the BMT from Reliance to Hwy 68. I normally hammock, but talked a friend into coming so I furnished the shelter.
