This seems like more of a photograph/gallery question but-
I was looking thru the gallery at photos of the Giant's Thumb in Connecticut. Check out the photos by High Life and DebW-
Either DebW is a substantially larger person than High Life is, or the formation grown. Is it just me or this a trick of the photograph?

High Life's photo was shot with a wider angle lens. The bottom of the rock looks larger than the top because of the proximity of it to the camera lens. If you look at all 3 photes and consider that the rock is roughly equal to twice the length of the hikers in all 3 photos you see that it is just a difference in perspective.
