Here is a link to two rather large aerial photos of Damascus, Virginia, taken Friday May 2. The Trail Days campground, the town park, and Dot's (the really important places) are marked.

It would be interesting to have another pic shot during trail days for comparison.

Frolicking, I have attached a photo showing the exact location of Lone Wolf's house so that you may more easily visit him.

Let me know when the shot is being taken though ...so that I can have my hat on and avoid blinding glare in the photo !!

I'll leave that to the hikers. (I hike the AT every day but it's mostly down Laurel Avenue.) Attached is an aerial overview of Damascus. The AT comes in from the right, runs through town, and then climbs off into the mountains at the top of the photo. If someone wants to use this photo to show where the trail runs, please post it here, and I will also add it to the Damascus website (http://www.damascus.org). Possum Bill will probably want to put it on the Trail Days website (http://traildays.us).

The real AT is the Creeper Trail. The town moved the trail thru town to get the hikers to spend all their money.
