anyone know of any good weekend length backpacking trails in MA?
Hi EB,
Start in Ashburnham/Ashby Ma. and hike the Wapack Trail. ~21 miles, Only one place to camp though, at the Wind Blown X-country Ski area. Call in advance for permission. The trail ends on the North side of North Pack Monadnock in Greenfield NH.
I'v hiked it quite a bit over the las few years, I use it to get in shape in the spring. Watatic mountain is a great 1/2 day family hike, it is small 1832', and only takes about 45" to climb, bring a lunch and the wife/kids and enjoy the bald top looking out to Mount Wachusett and some southern NH towns.
