:-?I am going to hike for 8 1/2 days. I need to heat water for coffee in the AM and tea in the PM. I have 4 boil water cook in pouch dinners and 4 cook for 12 min. meals. I have a snowpeak giga power 7.8 oz canister. Do I need more? Should I put a 1/2 full canister with my food drop?
You would probably be fine with only 4 oz can for the whole trip.

I always opt for more than less but if you are absolutely certain of the distance, temperatures to be expected, etc.........one canister should do it.

How many oz is the canister? I don't know about the Snowpeak, but I have a Pocket Rocket and I burned through one entire canister (4 oz) and 1/2 of another in just 5 days. I boiled water for coffee every morning and boiled water for dinner every evening.

Thanks this is helpful. Looks like my 7.8 oz may make it but I think I'll leave a 1/2 full canister with my resupply. Sure do wish the cans had gauges on them.
