Another newbie

After lurking for about six months, I decided it was time to post.

I'll be driving my son to start his thru-hike next weekend. I'm the nervous mom and will come here often for encouragement and advice. He's done all the planning and I've done all the purchasing (yes, he's a poor college student).

Any suggestions on where to stay the night before he heads out?
