I hit the trail at the trailhead in Palmerton but for some reason I wound up where I started the next day. Trail markers were white, then turned blue then turned red. Anyways I want to start again but a little bit further south. I see on the map that there is a road called Translator road that crosses the trail. Does anybody know if I can actually get on the trail from that point?

All I know is what I see on the map. It called "Translator Lane" on my map and has a parking lot within walking distance of the trail.

Which way are you hiking, north or south?

I'm planning to be in the area there for an overnighter tomorrow and Monday, camping just one night on the trail. Maybe I'll see you. I was planning to park at the rt 309 parking lot and hike south, camp overnight and then head back to the car Sunday.

Yes, you can park at the parking lot on translator lane and hike south to bake oven knob shelter. Its looks like it 5.something trail miles to bake oven knob shelter.
