Recently got hooked on FBC cooking with my homemade Heineken stove. Tried one Lipton rice and one Lipton noodle pkg. straight out of the bag; rice was great - noodle was just okay. On Sarbar's website she says stick with thinner noodles. Anyone have favorites or ones that cook up real nice right out of the bag??

Thanks--

Have you tried Thai rice noodles? They're not Lipton, they're basically linguine made of rice, cook fast, especially if you presoak, great with a peanut sauce.

Yeah---they're great. I like the lemongrass or onion flavors.

I like the Knorr "Teriyaki Noodles" the best. With a packet of tuna, chicken or salmon.....mmmmmmmmm.

I make them at home somtimes because I like them so much. I also like to try out new stoves so I cook on a trail stove a few times a week.

I like the pasta roni brand better then lipton/knorr. They have several angel hair flavors.

Couscous is semolina, same stuff as spaghetti. Cooks very fast, comes in several combos.

One of my favorite meals on my last trip was the Lipton/Knorr Thai Sesame noodles, with a foil packet of Mango Chipotle salmon mixed in after the noodles were done cooking. The noodles are thinner and cooked up just fine. Good eats!

Ok AT - Peanut Sauce? Where are you going to hide the bottle when you pass the shelters? What are you going to do to avoid being tackled by bears and really hungry thru hikers?
