Any Gpack stay removals out there?

Has anyone successfully removed their Gregory G pack's stay?

How'd you do it and what were the results?

Any info appreciated !

Last year, at Trail Days, I brought my GPack to the Gregory booth to have them repair a pulled out shoulder strap (warrranty work). The seamstress turned the pack inside out before removing the black plastic framsheet. Give Gregory a jingle if you can't figure it out, 800-477-3420.

BTW- did you end up carrying your Gpack the whole way? How was it for you?

I've liked mine so far, but I think I'd like it better WITHOUT the stay....

Last year I only put 400 miles on this pack, from Springer to Dennis Cove where I got off trail with achilles tendentious. I do like this pack and never thought about removing the stay or framesheet. I had more than enough room for my gear and food. The top lid pocket was becoming a junk drawer and I think this is what I'd get rid of first, keeping the framesheet.
