Maildrop at Rockfish Gap VC?

Hey happy hikers!

I was wondering if anyone had ever sent a maildrop to the Rockfish Gap Visitors Center? We wanted to try to avoid going into Waynesboro or the PO for time reasons. I actually did call the VC, but the two people I talked to sounded extremely confused about if they accepted maildrops. I assume this means that its uncommon to say the least (then again, they were both very old and apparently there was a lot of background noises...). The second person did finally say yes (albeit very hesitantly and in a confused tone), but I still don't feel at all sure if she even understood what I was asking. I was just wondering if anyone had any knowledge about this.

That's the first I've heard of doing a maildrop at the visitor center. I've heard of doing one at the Afton Inn (but may have to be a UPS package?) Their number, I think, is 1-800-860-8559.

As for the "extremely confused" remark, well yes, it's because there's always old people in there and they always seem to be very hard-of-hearing.
