I know there are other ways to avoid carrying a USB cable, but this one was a surprise to me. It works great.

I bought a Sandisk Ultra II SD disk. This one is 2 gb. It comes with a folding part that reveals a built-in USB plug. Pull the card from the camera, plug it in, and there ye be. No battery drain for a download, no cable to carry.

Man, that is totally cool. I use a reader that is about the size of a Bic lighter that weighs hardly anything(under an ounce). I never used a cable as I was late into photography technology. I had a cable/usb that came with it, but I could just plug the card directly into the sd slot on my computer.

Please keep us posted on the durability of the card. Below is a link that had that for about $35. What did you pay if I may ask?

Don't really remember. Something like $28 plus something for shipping. Got it from www.newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com), with good service. Another place that's given me good service recently is www.vanns.com (http://www.vanns.com).

It would be worth checking around for prices before ordering....

taking that one step more, just get a wifi camera! http://www.photographyreview.com/wirelesscameracrx.aspx

Just get a signal, send your photos to a pre-determined site (webshote, picasa...) and upload!

Why did you have to post that? Now I have another thing to spend money on…

A lot of computers now have SD card readers built in so no need for a special SD card, WIFI or USB cable.
